THE PLACE OF DILIGENCE
:
Previously, we had seen that manifestation isn’t an accidental occurrence, it is intentional. To manifest means to bring something that is already there into reality. We also saw that everyone is blessed with the ability to succeed and success is intentional. A person who isn’t doing anything can’t be successfully or maybe he is successful in doing nothing. Darah, one of our partners said something at Queens Hangout 2017, it was thrilling when she said “you don’t have to wait till you can do something big, you just have to start doing something”. It is very evident that we can think big but no man can start big, those who start big today had a time they started very little. There is a process.
:
Life is in stages, life on earth operates on the principles of time. While our spiritual reality is timeless, life on earth is “time-full”; it revolves greatly around the principles of time. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 3 that there is time for everything. There is seed time and there is harvest time, when you miss the sowing time the reaping time isn’t for you. When the stage of sowing is skipped, the stage of reaping will elude you. If you do not work now you can’t eat tomorrow. Jesus said in the Lord’s Prayer “Give us today our daily bread” and it means “give us the bread we need every day today”. Truth is that God has given us the abilities, we can get ideas (maybe it is not out of place to ask God for ideas) and make up today those things we need tomorrow. Today may be a sowing time, a time to start up that vision, a time to start small, and a time to start the struggle… It will surely grow to a time when you wouldn’t have to struggle again.

Everyone rated as stars today started from somewhere. When you don’t start, you can’t be a star! Stars are meant to shine, their light may not become so visible now but as long as they keep shinning it gets brighter and brighter because light travels! The reason why so many people do not succeed even after receiving this kind of teachings is because they hear the truth, they receive it, they feel momentarily good and motivated but they never use what they have received. It’s like getting a brand new car, you feel good about it but never get to drive it, and you’ll probably keep trekking or struggling to join others in the bus.

Let’s talk more about diligence.
Consistency is an element of diligence. We always hear that practice makes perfect but it’s not just about the word “practice” it is about the action! As long as you keep doing it even when you aren’t perfect in it you are perfecting daily. The Bible says in Proverbs 21:5 “The plan of the diligent lead surely to abundance and advantage, but everyone who acts in haste come surely to poverty”. It takes patience to be consistent, patience is a virtue associated with diligence. A diligent man isn’t in a hurry to try other alternatives! He keeps pressing till wine is produced. The losses I have recorded in life were mostly results of hasty actions which were sponsored by desperation. God is not pleased with desperation; it is a sign of the presence of fear. You must avoid taking decisions when desperate, it is in the time of desperation that you need to calm down, pray and sleep over every thought that ever came to your mind.
:
There are laid down principles of success that anyone can follow and succeed! Success on earth isn’t for Christians alone but for everyone. Being a Christian is an advantage because the fruit of your born again Spirit has every virtue you need for success but you must put those virtues to work before it becomes a physical reality. No matter the ideas you’re putting on ground you’ll simply fail if diligence is not put into play.
:
So many of us are going through a lot of stress because of the poverty of our Parents but now that we are realizing that our Parents mistakes and failures shouldn’t actually determine our lives we should start rewriting our stories and never transfer same stress to our own generation. Still on diligence, the Bible says in 1 Kings 11:28 AMP “The man Jeroboam was a brave warrior and when Solomon saw that the young man was industrious, he put him in charge of all forced labor of the house of Joseph”. Look at Jeroboam, he was a great warrior and that’s very beautiful but he never stopped at that, he was industrious! To be industrious also means to be diligent and it takes a person who isn’t giving up easily to be industrious. It wasn’t his bravery that announced him anyway but his diligence! Diligence brings your greatness to limelight. Many great men were unannounced and unsuccessful because they were not diligent. Jeroboam got promoted and was put in charge of a bigger force. Where there is no diligence, there is no promotion. Even in service, you must be diligent before you can successfully experience promotion because every higher promotion requires a higher application of diligence. You can’t put people in charge of your entire business when they have failed to show any commitment to it. You aren’t just rewarded for your availability; you are rewarded for your diligence. I also want us to understand that business entails everything we do for a living and not buying and selling. By this I also mean ministry, family, academics, career and so on. I told them at House of Vasileia “if you are not diligent, you’ll be a successful failure”
:
Let’s look at yet another place in the Bible, 2 Chronicles 24:13 NIV “The men in charge of the work were diligent, and the repairs progressed under them. They rebuilt the temple of God according to its original design and reinforced it”. These men were put in charge of a responsibility, to rebuild the temple of God. The repairs were progressing because they were diligent! If diligence wasn’t in play they would rebuild the temple anyway but it wouldn’t be according to its original design! However, they did. You see, diligence gets you to play according to the rules and not your own convenience. Creativity alone isn’t a guarantee, add diligence!
:
I have mentioned the word “diligence” a lot of times here and some might be wondering what that word mean. It means preserving determination to perform a task. It is not just determination but a preserving determination… Like an unconditional commitment to a thing till result is produced. A preserving determination doesn’t give up, it keeps pushing. The Bible says in Proverbs 10:4 NIV “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth”. Another word used for laziness here is negligence. Where a negligent man isn’t seeing any progress a diligent man is succeeding. The proceeding verse continues “He who gathers crop in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son”. Sometimes lazy people sow but they don’t reap, there has to be sowing before there is harvest. Anyone expected to go for the harvest is one who has sown. A man who isn’t diligent might have made investments but he isn’t patient enough to wait for the harvest time and he gives up! Lazy people usually give up on the way, sometimes they give up just few seconds to their prosperity because they lack that beautiful element of diligence called “consistency”. To be lazy sometimes isn’t lack of work but lack of preserving determination to perform a task. Lazy people can work at their convenience and even when they do they would be lazy to reap because harvest doesn’t always come up at our convenience.
:
You ought to always speak to your body, sometimes I tell myself “I cannot be lazy, I am productive and I am producing results”, when you speak these words, you’re encouraging yourself and aligning your body to act in accordance to the realities of your Spirit. Lazy people do not lack opportunities, they always come across it but they are too lazy to grasp it. Also note that laziness happens when people aren’t ready to get out of their comforts! When you are so much interested in your comfort, you can only do very little but when you have this preserving determination to perform a task, you will produce results and your seeds shall yield increase.
