I started thinking about this girl that I loved and she dominated every of my thought. I would think of what to do to show her how much I love her. Sometimes I would mistakenly mention her name when I want to talk to someone else. Her pictures became my wallpaper and she was just over the place in my head. Because I have been filled with the very thought of her, I began to see her in my dreams. When I see nice stuff in the store the first thing that comes to my mind is “will she like this?” Well… That is a story for another day.

:

This is exactly how God want us to think about Him. He wants us to love and think about him so much that He becomes interwoven into everything we do. God doesn’t just want us to believe in Him, He wants us to love Him and know Him in a deeper level. He wants us to wake up with the thought of Him, work with the thought of Him and also sleep with the thought of Him. Just like I filled my mind with the thought of “that girl” and never struggled to put her as a priority, when your mind is filled with God, you will not struggle to make Him your priority… it will happen on its own.

:

I treasured “that girl” so much that my heart stayed where ever she was. At some point many of us have had this kind of experience. She became an indestructible word on my lips and only a little spark gets me talking about her to anyone. In that same manner, if we treasure God this much, we will not struggle to preach Him anywhere and we will not be afraid to do so. Jesus said

:

“Your heart will always be where your treasure is.” Matthew 6:21

:

Anything can become your treasure… it is not necessarily gold and diamonds. There are people in our lives who are worth more than diamonds, is it not true? Why will kidnappers kidnap someone and demand huge ransom and get it? It is because those paying the ransome value the kidnapped more than the amount of money demanded. When God becomes your treasure, your heart is where He is and you will never struggle to worship Him. You will see yourself worshipping Him from the inside out without having to wait for someone to sing you into it.

:

Many people treasure friends, make ups, clothes, party and so many other things to a point that God have only the last space in their heart. They only remember God when things aren’t working out well and they attend church only to get a need solved. Well, your heart is where you treasure is and whatever replaces God in your life becomes your god. Micah 4:5 says

:

“For all the peoples [now] walk every man in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.”

:

You see that? Every man walk in the name (identity) of his god (treasure)…

:

How do you place God over everything? First, we must understand that God is a spirit and when we talk about making Him the first, it is basically a spiritual thing. Jesus says in John 4:24 that “those who worship Him will do so in spirit and truth”. So, we need to feed our spirit man with the very word of God and fill our mind with His thoughts. By the constant mediation and application of God’s word, we are gradually rechanneling our self wholly to Him. (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23, Joshua 1:8)

:

You cannot actually make God the first and forget about people around you. In fact, one of the ways to know that God is the first in your life is when you live in peace and live with all men. Your love for God can only be expressed by your genuine love for the people around you regardless of their status… It doesn’t matter if they are your enemies or not. Jesus says that when we take care of people around us, we are actually taking care of Him (Matthew 25:35-40). You see that? Some religious persons isolate people all in the name of putting God first but no… God wants our love for Him to be expressed to people around us including those who hate us (Matthew 5:44).

:

The answer is always love… Everyone of us must have experienced being obsessed with the thought of someone special. Sometimes the person we think about in this manner doesn’t feel the same way about us… This is where God remains the ultimate. No matter what you feel about God, He feels so much more about you. No matter how you make Him the first, you’re much more important to Him (Romans 5:8, 1 John 3:1)

:

I will drop my pen with this passage…

:

“My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows we have been given new life. We are now God’s children, and we know him. God is love, and anyone who doesn’t love others has never known him. God showed his love for us when he sent his only Son into the world to give us life. Real love isn’t our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven. Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we must love each other.   No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is truly in our hearts.” – 1 John 4:7‭-‬12 CEV
