She visited me today in the office, we started talking about life in Christ Jesus. I noticed she had desires for the things of God and I noticed her sincerity… I loved her for that. We hadn’t talked for about thirty minutes when I suddenly asked her

:

“Do you have the Holy Spirit?”

“Uhmmm…” She thought

“Do you speak in tongues?” I enquired further

“No” she said smiling

“Do you want to receive the Holy Spirit and start speaking in tongues?” I asked and she still gave a negative response. Her response got me worried because as someone who had such desire to really be the best, I felt she would be willing to receive the Spirit that enables her to become such. On a second thought, I asked her why she doesn’t want the Holy Spirit and she opened up to me
“I can’t speak in tongues, perhaps God doesn’t want me to. I have struggled all my life, I have done everything possible, I have been prayed for by many pastors but I still couldn’t speak in tongues! I have given up on it, I have just closed my heart to it!”
“But… You couldn’t pray in the Spirit because you have been struggling to! Jesus didn’t say we should struggle for it! We are to ask and believe! How is your spiritual life?” I asked
“Well, I find it hard to study the Bible… It’s boring! I find it hard to pray… I just found it hard to really be a Christian” she frankly told me. I understood her, I have been like that before and I don’t blame her! She just didn’t have the power to be what she wants to be

:

For an hour, I took her on a journey to the scriptures, we enjoyed the delicacy of God’s word and I taught her on the Holy Spirit and His workings!

:

After that, I held her hands and ask her to make a demand for the Holy Spirit… She did and started speaking in tongues!

:

I wish to clearly point out that power is not lacking in the church! Knowledge is what many Christians lack! Once you get the knowledge of God’s word and apply it, results are bound to happen!
