These days, people are ready to travel miles just to get to certain prophets and pastors who perform signs and miracles, those superb and dazzling orators! However, it has turned out to be “the more you look, the less you see affair”.

:

God’s prophets are not known by miracle performances. They are known for standing on God’s word no matter the storm. While miracles can happen through them, it is not the criteria by which they are known and it is not what qualifies a prophet. Even when Moses stick turned to snake, the magicians did the same! Most of the things Moses did was always replicated by the magicians. The only difference was that God always proved to Pharaoh that He is the Almighty! A believer does not need such proof! A believer already know and believes that God is the Almighty.

:

At a point, Timothy was sick and it was normal to expect Paul to quickly cast that sickness out! Paul didn’t do so, he simply recommended home treatments for him. This doesn’t mean miracles don’t happen in the lives of believers but it also tells us that it is not a requirement of recognising who a true man of God is and it is also not what proves we are children of God!

:

These days, Christians are running from pillar to post looking for solutions to their problems and they end up being deceived by so called men of God just because such person performed miracles. The devil is not foolish, the bible says the devil is wise and Paul says the devil can even transform to an angel of light just to deceive believers.

:

I once came across a Facebook post of a very popular pastor and he asked people to drop their prayer points on the comment box; everyone was simply dropping prayer points that is only on them. They want to get healed, they want to be rich, they want to be richer and so on… That was all they ever wanted! It seems many gatherings where believers are supposed to be fed with God’s word has become a place people are promised quick money and other goodies, they have been made to believe it is the only thing the church stands for.

:

People have assumed that as long as you can perform signs, you are from God! I have seen a Pastor argue that ministers who don’t perform miracles are not of God and his logic was that God will always want to prove himself when we talk about Him. While it may seem safe to accept, it is not true! God doesn’t need to prove Himself anymore than He has done! He chooses when to prove Himself. God wants people to genuinely believe in Him whether things are good or bad! He wants to be our God in good times and bad!

:

Have you wondered why miracles are easier to happen in mission fields? Because that is a place people have not believed… If you want to see the genuine power of God, go to the mission field. A pastor who teaches God’s word is better than a Pastor who is only performing miracles. Miracles are never ever criteria of knowing who is sent from God. For Jesus to have talked about it shows it will be a major crisis amongst believers. Jesus warned
“Then, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’—do not believe it. For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will perform miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God’s chosen people, if possible. Be on your guard! I have told you everything ahead of time.” – Mk 13:21‭-‬23 GNT

:

For Jesus to have made such warning even when believers were expected to perform miracles, it shows that miracles aren’t necessarily what a believer should be striving for. What kind of miracles will have the capacity of deceiving God’s chosen people? Such a miracle will be earth shaking, mind blowing and extremely superb! Now, this also means some of these false christs and false prophets has the potentials of being very popular and overseers of several congregations. They can be controlling millions of people because they will surely get crowd!

:

But… Jesus have said… “Be on your guard! I have told you everything ahead of time”.
