Explosive Teaching based on John 15:3-17

:

Many times, our legalistic minds keeps trying to draw us away from the reality of the gospel. We feel we need to do something extra for power or righteousness, we feel its just impossible to please God like that! The Bible says that by faith, Abraham pleased God! I always get moved to tears when I see the ignorance that flies everywhere, even in the congregation of supposed believers! You see, the Bible stopped making sense to us the day we left its simplicity in search of something else!

:

Why would Abraham be counted as righteous just because of his faith? He had faith in God and His promises! I want you to understand the meaning of this. By believing God’s word even when the results were not yet manifested, Abraham was showcasing his trust in God’s power! Nothing pleases God than when we acknowledge His greatness and the power in His word!

:

When God says you are forgiven, He wants you to believe His word and trust Him absolutely! Trying to help the word shows you aren’t trusting God completely. When God says you are healed, believing it showcases your absolute trust in Him. God is pleased by it! He counts your believe in Him as righteousness more than anything else. So, you are made pure by God’s word… The purity begins to manifest the moment you believe and hold on to God.

:

Jesus said in John 15:3

:

“You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.”

:

You see that? Jesus said it! Believers are already clean because of the word Jesus have spoken! Jesus already said “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” and that word alone has purified us! We only get into it when we believe it!

:

God is not demanding your efforts to get you saved! He isn’t demanding your good works to guarantee your salvation. His word first brought purification, making us ready to bear good fruits! We cannot bear good fruits on our own, we must receive Jesus by believing and He takes it from there. Jesus said in verse 4

:

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

:

Now, this clearly tells us that even after what God has done, we need to consciously remain in Jesus. How do we do that? It simply means to continue believing! If believing in Jesus unites us with Him, only one thing can disunite us and it is disbelief! As long as we keep believing and trusting Jesus, He also continues to be in us! Can believers loose their salvation? They can loose if they stopped believing.

:

And Jesus added that our fruitfulness is assured in Him! Jesus said in verse 5

:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

:

As long as we continue abiding, we can bear fruit. To keep holding on, we need to give ourselves to the word of God and see the amazing things God said concerning us! By holding on to the word of God, you are holding on to Jesus, we cannot stop believing, and that is when the word of God comes alive in you! You see your life on earth transforming! You will begin to reflect the purity that is inside of you.

:

What is the fate of those who don’t hold on to God? They loose their salvation. Not because God is stingy with salvation but because they have decided to let go of God’s generous gift of grace. Jesus said in verse 6

:

“If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”

:

When you don’t remain in Jesus, you are wasted! Your usefulness gets lost and you become like a salt that has lost its taste. Holding on to God’s word doesn’t just guarantee our salvation or purity, it brings us to the place of power! Since Jesus abides in us too, our voice becomes the voice of God. We speak things into reality and its manifestation becomes evident. Jesus said in verse 7

:

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

:

I want you to get this very clear. We can only remain in Jesus by getting His word to remain in us! As long as His word is in us, we can make requests and it is done for us! We don’t do it for ourselves, it is done for us because we are royalties!

:

As people who God’s word is dwelling in, we must let that word shine through us! We must show people what Jesus looks like by doing what Jesus did. Jesus said in verse 8

:

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

:

It brings glory to God when we do good works! Now you see that we don’t do good works to get saved, we do it to bring glory to God’s name! God enjoys when we exhibit His righteousness. It is still very stupid for a believer to engage in sin and things that are not in agreement with God’s word. When we deliberately begin to exhibit unrighteousness, we are walking away from God’s love. God is not the one withdrawing His love, we are the ones who walk out of His love by walking out of His word. Hell is a place that exist outside God’s love and when we keep walking out of His word, we are gradually drawing near to hell. Jesus said in verse 9&10

:

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.”

:

One of the things living out the purity in us will do is that it makes our joy complete! How do we live out this purity in us? Jesus told us it is by loving one another. Not like anyone else have loved but as He has loved. The way Jesus showed love is so different! He met the adulterer, He never condemned her but showed her she can be a saint! Jesus met a robber on the cross and took him to paradise. We must genuinely show love to people and showing love fulfills all the demands of the law. Jesus said in verse 11-15

:

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

;

You see, its God’s business when you make people see His nature through you. That can only happen when you live in love both with friends and enemies! When you do this, you are professing your friendship with God. There must be a deliberate will to show love. To show love is to show Jesus.

:

We did not choose ourselves, Jesus did! We did not qualify ourselves, Jesus did. In Jesus, your salvation is rest assured! Now, work that salvation out… Let people see it and give glory to God. Jesus continued in verse 16 & 17

:

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.”

:

We are pure! We are righteous! We are saved by His word… Now, let’s show it!
