In this time, people come to Church for the wrong reasons, people pray for the wrong reasons and lots of things have gone bad. Most Church programs are focused on raising billionaires instead of raising people with God’s kind of righteousness. Our messages are often about killing our enemies who have said our business will not grow but I have not heard anybody pray against enemies of God’s righteousness.
Christians are supposed to be those people who don’t worry for what to eat or drink, Christians are supposed to be those people who promotes God’s righteousness only! But in this time, it seems Christians are the most self centered people because their songs, prayers, teachings and actions are all about themselves and what they will get. Jesus asked us not to be worried about these things! Jesus said we shouldn’t worry about tomorrow. I believe my tomorrow is secured, so why worry about it? If God’s word is true then am rich in Christ… So no need to be concerned about those things anymore. This is the mentality of people who have God’s righteousness.
Whenever I look at certain people, all I see is the desire for miracles, the hunger for power, the hunger for wealth, the hunger to back up their ministry with miracles! However, Jesus is saying that all those things are good, all those things are obtainable but they are given to us not because we seek it but because we sought for God’s kingdom and his righteousness. Let us look at the bible now;
“Instead, desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 CEB
You see that? This is the word of Jesus. There is no room to desire for wealth, power and fame! The moment you have God’s righteousness, you have all these things. What is God’s kingdom and righteousness?
The moment you accept Jesus, you’re received into God’s kingdom and your spirit is regenerated, the righteousness of Jesus is suddenly credited to you and it also results into having an inward and outward righteousness. A righteousness that is also visible to the eyes. It is not being religious, wearing shabby clothes and being unkempt! No… God’s righteousness makes you look good, attractive, lovely and decent! God’s righteousness is a process that starts from the inside out! God’s righteousness is God’s GRACE! You don’t have that righteousness and still be arrogant and wicked! It makes you gentle and humble.
The bible says that Grace teaches us to say no to sin (Titus 2:12). But, it doesn’t just teach us to say no, it enables us to say no to sin! The bible says it is God who works in us both to will and to do (Philippians 2:13). That is God’s righteousness! As a preacher, I preach only God’s kingdom and his righteousness and I see the sick get healed, you will see the poor get rich and you will see broken marriages being healed!
When I got the revelation of God’s grace, I stopped preaching methods of getting this and that, I stopped preaching methods of living a good life and I started preaching Jesus! Suddenly, I began to record miracles! Lives where beginning to be changed. I remember touching a young boy who had stomach ache, he felled under the anointing and was healed immediately, I also remember praying for certain sick persons, a young boy whose eyes were very bad got restoration of his sight! These things were never my priority, I never wanted to prove my ministry with them! I just preached Jesus and suddenly these miracles were recorded! Leading people to Christ is the greatest miracle, seeing lives change is the greatest miracles anyone can ever see! That’s God’s desire, that all men will be drawn to him!
I met a Pastor who would go up to the mountain to spend days in intense prayers, when I knew his prayer points, I was disappointed! He has been praying for power to heal the sick and raise the dead so that people can start trooping to him! That is just what he desires but nowhere in the bible are we told to seek for powers! We already have them the moment we received God’s kingdom and his righteousness!
Jesus said “and these signs shall follow them who believes…” (Mark 16:17). Miracles have no excuse not to follow any believer, it is not something we sought after! In fact the desire for miracles is not worth our fasting and prayers! If there is anything a believer should desire, it has to be continuous revelation of God’s word! It has to be desire for spiritual growth and maturity! Other things are not worthy of our desires!
“Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 CEB
Are you concerned about what to eat, what to drink, what to wear, how to impress people and all that? Change your desire now! Desire God’s kingdom and his righteousness and there is a promise that other things shall be added unto you!
If you are a believer, you have that kingdom and his righteousness! Desire to grow in the knowledge of God’s kingdom and righteousness. One big reason why I can’t be worried about miracles, money and power is that I have them already! You don’t need to see it, you just need to believe it! And you see greater things happening in your life.
